it’s been a while, so i thought i would update you on my nails of the past week. i started off with flawless by essie. it is a light pink that is similar to, but a little bit dustier than pinking of you by opi. it is in their new spring collection for 2009. i only have a mini bottle of it, and while it is a nice pink, i dont think i will be buying a bigger bottle.
the next polish i used was aqua baby by china glaze. unfortunately i forgot to take a picture of it, but it is still on my toes, so i will try to put one up later. i also didnt take a picture of monsooner or later, which i wore for a day or two this week. it is a bright red from the opi india collection. i had some blue still on my nails, so it looked a little gross.
yesterday i painted my nails miami beet, which is new from the opi south beach collection. i like it a lot a lot a lot. and the name is funny. beat, beet. get it? haha. anyways, i would highly recommend it. in the bottle it looks similar to over exposed on south beach, so i want to compare them at some point.
oh and i got some on my cuticles, so sorry that looks weird.
anyways, i hope this weeks been good for you and your nails! happy polishing!
hey everyone! i havent written for a while since it has been a busy week. so now i have three polishes that i want to tell you about.
The first is strawberry margarita from the opi mexico collection in spring/summer 2006. it is a nice springy pink.. the picture doesn’t really represent it that well, but it is a nice color.
also, i just painted my nails turned up turquoise from china glaze. i really like it. it is neon and changes from the green color pictured, to more of a blue-green in different lighting. a lot of people have complimented me on it, but i dont think i could wear it very frequently.
finally, i had painted my nails vendetta before the turquoise. vendetta is a new color for spring 09 from chanel. it was a pretty big let down. it cost about 3x as much as my china glaze or opi polishes, and though it had a good consistency, i found the brush difficult to use and the color was pretty average.. basically what all the other brands have been doing all winter. the plus was i felt fashiony saying that i was wearing chanel, but i wouldnt advise you to run out and buy it.
anyway, thats all i have for now. happy polishing!
i FINALLY found them: the designer collection! there were only five or six bottles left in the store, but i had to have one. i really dont understand why ulta isnt better stocked with them. anyway, so i picked out this one. it is a medium red-pink that has holographic diamond dust in it.
the picture doesnt really capture how awesome it is.
also at ulta, i purchased a whopping 13 other nail polishes! (1/2 are just mini bottles – dont worry). i got: sand in my suit, bronzed to perfection, and miami beet from the new south beach collection. also from that collection i got the teeny bikini mini bottles, which includes suzi and the lifeguard, over exposed on south beach, and done out in deco, as well as the rapid dry top coat. i also got the mini bottles for the spring essie collection and 2 china glazes that i am looking forward to using. then yesterday i splurged on a channel polish. i think this might become an issue… new resolution: no new polish until i have used all my other ones at least once.
my friend recently painted her nails with “shanghai shimmer” and it is such a nice color! she described it as a “light mauve with a green undertone.” also, she says that “it has a lot of variation in tone depending upon how the light is hitting it” and that “it is much more subtle in person.” shanghai shimmer is currently in the classics collection, but it was introduced in spring/summer 2000 as part of the far east collection.
so let me know what you think! and as always, happy polishing!
moon over mumbai is a soft grey from the india collection.
it is a simple yet stunning color, not to mention that greys are totally in right now! there was actually only one bottle of this left at ulta, and both my friend and i wanted it. she ended up getting it, but was nice enough to take a picture of her nails. i really like this color and if i see another bottle of it i will definitely pick it up, and i recommend that you do too!
p.s. check out opi’s new website!
